Riverstone, a Sugar Land, Texas new home development, is setting sales records using scent marketing. The award winning developer, Sitterle Homes, scents individual rooms in the model homes and challenges potential buyers to identify the fragrances used in an event called the “Scentsational Tour of Homes” throughout the month of October.
“Not only will visitors be inspired by the trendsetting décor, but they will be treated to a relaxing aromatherapy experience, with fragrances complementing a room’s theme, such as a lemongrass master suite,” said Christen Johnson, Riverstone’s marketing director.
The community offers a choice of home types with prices starting at $280,000 and going into the millions of dollars. According to the Sugar Land News, “Riverstone recently celebrated 3,000 new-home sales in the community, an achievement that officially puts Riverstone midway through its development cycle. Sales have been happening at a record-breaking pace for a third consecutive year in the community and are approximately 42 percent higher than this time last year.”
As home prices and consumer confidence continue to go up, other home developers should take notice and use scent marketing to boost their own sales.
