When apparel maker QSD, maker of maternity and post-maternity undergarments, wanted to set itself apart from the competition, it looked for a unique packaging solution, and found it with Transparent Packaging. Canadian based Transparent Packaging designed a hexagonal package shape but it wasn’t quite enough. When QSD found out the they could add an encapsulated fragrance to the outside of the carton, they jumped at the opportunity.
“Having a nice fragrance associated with our product packaging really sets us apart,” said Carine Villeneuve, Marketing Manager for QSD. The company uses two different fragrances for its packages: baby powder and fresh cotton.
Scent is applied via a scented varnish and is released when the package is handled. If the customer rubs the package, she experiences even more scent.
Transparent Packaging has also produced scented packaging for hair care products, perfumes and promotional packages. They stock over 60 different fragrances, but can also accommodate custom fragrances.
